Whether it is for business or personal reasons, everyone wants to look younger these days. The good news is that there are proven ways like Botox and exercise, to get you looking like you are much younger than your birth certificate claims. Here are some things you can do to get that thirty five year-old look when you are fifty.

Botox has emerged as a really popular method being used by middle agers who want to look younger. Botox (botulinum toxin), is a mostly non-invasive injectable muscle relaxing treatment that is principally used to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Ramp up your fitness routine

One of the most important things you can do for yourself when you age is to start and stick to a consistent exercise routine. Exercise works to counteract three key aspects of aging, namely: the long terms effects of gravity pulling everything on us down toward the ground, our skin being stretched over time, and our metabolism slowing with age. The thing about exercise to remember is that anything you do that gets your muscles working and elevates your heart rate is effective. Ideally, you want to have a routine that includes some pretty strenuous aerobic type activity. This could include: aerobics, dancing swimming, jogging or any of dozens of other activities that get and sustain your heart at a rate elevated more than 50% above normal for at least thirty minutes. You want to couple this with some sort of strength training that forces the muscles to work hard for a fairly sustained period. This could be with the use of weights, or using body resistance types of exercises. Ideally you can combine both in one exercise to save time. And you want to exercise for three or four days per week. The best approach is to find an exercise that you love doing and do that often. If you love to dance, then get into a dance class. If you love to lift weights a bit, head to a gym and look for a partner who can keep you motivated.  When we dedicate ourselves to an exercise routine we also gain positive emotional feeling about ourselves, so with exercise, there are multiple reasons for us to do it and do it often.

As you age, even if you brush regularly, floss, and see your dentist, your teeth will suffer from discoloration to varying degrees. The reasons are the foods we eat, smoking, the environment, and time. Each takes a toll on our teeth’s beautiful white color causing them to yellow and yellowing teeth makes us look much older. Thee has emerged a thriving industry for teeth whitening that includes inexpensive products that you can use at home. These products include: whitening toothpastes that contain ingredients that lessen or remove stains from teeth and at-home bleaching treatments that do a great job at getting deep stains off the teeth. If these are not effective for you, the dentist has a range of products he can supply that are more effective at stain removal. Some are expensive, uncomfortable and require you to wear special equipment for days at a time, but they do work. To be effective these approaches each require time commitments.  The results are that sometimes a decade or more gets taken off your appearance.
